Dear Brother / Sister

Assalamu Alikum, it is with great pleasure that I enclose the Hajj 2015 Itinerary.

Introduction

At Disabled Hajj we appreciate that for most people the Hajj is a hard earned trip made only once in a lifetime. We regard pilgrims as honoured guests. For many people the Hajj means a new beginning. We aim to reduce as many of the practical hardships as possible that are often encountered by pilgrims in order to set them free to utilise their time in the worship of Allah and observance of the rituals.

We at Disabled Hajj are committed to making your journey as comfortable and rewarding as possible. Our prime objective is to offer a quality Hajj package where inevitable difficulties are kept to a minimum, customer service is maximized and all this without missing out on the spiritual aspects of the journey.

“Allah Assists his servant as long as his servant assisting his brother”

mission

Our Mission

There are many disabled Pilgrims who wish to perform Hajj and, if adequate preparations are made, many can fulfill their wish. The UK & European Disabled Hajj Mission, the first Hajj and Umrah tour operator specializing in disability needs, was born out of the desire to do just that, provide adequate preparations for countless disabled people determined to go on the Hajj.

mission2

We help make the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage accessible for disabled Pilgrims in the UK and Europe by advising, supporting and providing equipment, which enables them to participate in this Holy journey to perform their Hajj duties.

Having said that, I would also like to take a moment to explain that this is Hajj for the sake of Allah (SWT), a time when more than 3 million Muslims from around the world come together in peace and harmony to worship the almighty Allah (SWT) in a very small place. With this small place comes traffic, congestion and other problems that are a natural result of 3 Million people competing for time and space within this limited area. Add to it government rules and regulations that are necessary to make the whole process possible.

Thus, the constant need for patience is going to be a key element to a satisfactory Hajj. You will need patience at all times, including when you wait for the bus that rarely has enough place or time to park in order to pickup its passengers; patience to board the plane or if your luggage gets delayed and in some unfortunate cases lost or misrouted by the airlines; patience when you wait for the government’s Mutawef office staff to move us from Makkah to Madinah or vice versa, etc.

All of these instances are small sacrifices that we all need to make together to create an environment of comfort and ease for ourselves, and for others around us. If and when such difficulties arise, do not complain or get uptight; after all, this is yet another test from Allah to assess your will and determination to pass the most valuable exam in life.

It is crucial that we remember our purpose when travelling to Hajj in order to enjoy our journey and to get the most out of our Hajj, which for the majority of us, is a once in a lifetime experience, and for all of us (In-Sha’ Allah), the reward is priceless. Take advantage of any free time or potential delays to make “Zhikr” and “Tasbeeh”, read the Quran, help someone else who needs assistance. This is your chance to make it right with your creator, and to ask Allah to accept your Hajj and make it Hajj Mabroor In-Sha’ Allah.

Finally, I ask Allah for his forgiveness, guidance, and support to help us make your Hajj and ours as successful and pleasant as we all dream it to be, In Sha’ Allah.”

Disabled hajj

In response to a noticeable gap in the Hajj market for affordable trips for those on tight time constraints, Disabled Hajj have designed the ‘Express Package’. This package is perfect for those of you who only have a limited period of leave from work and need to perform affordable Hajj within that short time. This package consists of only 10 working days.

The trip will start with an international flight leading to Madinah avoiding the busy and infamous Hajj terminal in Jeddah. We will be supplying every member of the Disabled Hajj group with I.D. badges to make it Easy to keep track of the group. It is advisable for everyone to wear these from the time of meeting in Heathrow until we leave the airport in Madinah. You will spend four days in Madinah and then immediately board an air-conditioned coach taking you straight to Makkah to perform arrival Tawaf and then to the accommodation in Aziziah then to the European Camp where you will find your tent and spend the five most important days of Hajj performing the rituals.

By Monday 15th Zul Hijja1436 H (28th September 2015), you will be picked up again by the air-conditioned coach for your return flight to London.

Please refer to www.easyhajj.com OR www.disabledhajj.com to view your flight details. (Dates and allocations to be confirmed after Ramadan), around 17th July 2015.

  • Check in at LEAST 4 hours before departure.
  • (Please note that reading and printed materials taken into Saudi will be subject to further search and research on the source and the content. Sometimes the Saudi authorities will keep it for a day or two or sometimes even more to look into it. So please, do not carry anything that might create problems for you in the airport).

After arrival at Madinah airport the Pilgrims will be taken to the waiting hall in the airport. Please expect a waiting period of between two and four hours depending on the number of Pilgrims coming at that time. When your turn comes, customs agents will call you to the booth, they will check your visa and get some information from you and then they will ask you to pick up your luggage (your luggage will be in the same room that the custom agents are in). You will pick up your luggage and proceed to the checkpoint where they will conduct a routine search of all the bags.

Once you are done with bags, you will proceed to a check point were they will take from you the bank draft and give you a voucher sticker instead. This voucher sticker includes your bus fare for your transportation during the Hajj Rituals. The Muallim drafts are charged for services that the Muallim provides while you are performing you Hajj, and as the services are rendered at each location the sticker is removed from this card and the bar code scanned to document that the service was rendered to you.

From 14th September – 18th September 2015 , you will reside at 4-5 stars hotel less than 5 minutes walk to Al-Haram Al-Nabawi Al-Shareef. Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah

During your stay in Madinah:-

You will be praying at Masjid Al-Nabawi (Mosque of the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH). You will be taken by our guide to visit:-

  • Al-Baqe’a Cemetery (Men only)
  • Quba’a Mosque for offering prayer
  • UhudMountain (The Uhud’s battle)
  • The Mosque of two Qiblahs (Qiblateen)
  • The Seven Mosques (The Trench’s battle)

Going to Makkah for Hajj

Enter into Ihram at Al- Miqat (station of Ihram) falls on the way. You may enter into Ihram from the hotel. It is allowed to do so before Miqat but not after that point. As such we request that you perform Ghusul (Ihram shower) at the hotel before leaving to Makkah.

Preparation: You should have your hair cut (if needed), unnecessary body hair removed, moustache trimmed and nails pared. Then take a bath with the intention of Ihram or do wudu (ablutions) if bath is not possible.

Two Nafls: Offer two rak’ahs of nafil prayers.

Intention (Niyyah): Make the intention to perform Hajj.

Talbiyah: After the intention, recite Talbiyah three times. Pronouncing Talbiyah once is imperative (Fard) and pronouncing it more than once is Sunnah.

The following are the words of Talbiyah which you should memorize before leaving for this sacred journey because you have to pronounce them frequently:

TALBIYAH

“Labbayk, Allahumma Labbayk
Labbayk La shareeka laka Labbayk.
Innal-hamda wan-n’imata laka wal-mulk.
La shareeka lak.”

(Here we come, O Allah, here we come!
Here we come. No partner have You.Here we come!
Praise indeed, and blessings, are Yours the Kingdom too!
No partner have You!)

As soon as Talbiyah is pronounced, you are entered into the state of Ihram and all the obligations of Ihram start which are the same in Umrah or Hajj. One should continue reciting Talbiyah in a loud voice and it should be pronounced thrice each time. Women have to recite Talbiyah in subdued voice if men other than her immediate relatives are around.

Prohibitions of Ihram

All pilgrims, in the state of Ihram, are forbidden to cover their heads (for men), hunt, argue, cut their hair or nails, kill flies, mosquitoes and lice, use perfume, or engage in sexual relations. A woman may wear any dress for Ihram as long as it does not show her adornments, or cause temptation to men.

Arrival in Makkah

While moving to Makkah, which is about 420 kilometres away, you should be in the prescribed state of Ihram and should continue proclaiming Talbiyah as often as you can. When you enter Makkah, you should be reciting Talbiyah with great enthusiasm and fondness.

Accommodation during your stay in Makkah will be in Azaziah. The reason for the choice of using the building in Azaziah over those close to the Haram is that we will spend most of our time away from the Haram and at the tents. Additionally, all the buildings surrounding the Ka’abah have been demolished to allow more space for the crowds entering the mosque. The Jamarat is located only 10-15 minutes walk from this location. The Haram is 4km from Azaziah and the tents are 6-7km. The only rituals performed at the Haram are the Arrival Tawaf (Tawaf Qudum) and Ifada Tawaf. Males and females will be accommodated separately in the same building in Azaziah. The number of people per room will be determined by the size of each room. We will operate on a first come first served basis (Early booking will be in a less occupancies room).

You will reside at Makkah Al-Mukaramah Al-Azizyah Al-Shamalia *Sidqi Street (The way to Jamarat) *Al- Ma’erefa Street *Opposite to Talha Ebn Obied Allah’s School *Beside Hamzah Mosque.

مكة المكرمة * العزيزة الشمالية * شارع صدقي المؤدي إلى الجمرات * شارع المعرفة * أمام مدرسة طلحة بن ُعـبيد الله * بجوار مسجد حمزة

The apartment is situated 10-15 minutes walk from Jamarat. Feel free to use the apartment during your stay in Mina at anytime. Rest and freshen-up after returning from Jamarats. After a short rest, you make your way to Al-Haram (Ka’abah) to perform Tawaf Al-Qudom (Arrival Tawaf) and Sa’ae. After performing Al-Tawaf and Al-Sa’ae, head back to the accommodation.

  • Put on Ihram garments again from the accommodation (There is no need in going to Miqat again).
  • Make intention for Hajj
  • Remain in during the Tarwiah Day (8th Zul Hijjah) and perform the 5 prayers starting from the Zuhr prayer and ending with the Fajr prayer on the day of Arafat.

THINK ABOUT HAJJ

Going to Arafat Tuesday 22nd September 2015 (9th Zul Hijjah 1436 H)

Arafat’s Day (The most important day of the Hajj rituals)

      • After Fajer prayer in Mina, proceed to Arafat.
      • The Imam leads Zuhr and Asr prayers, combined and shortened, at Zuhr time with one Azan and two Iqamah.
      • Time will be spent in prayer and supplications until sunset

Muzdalifa

      • At Maghrib time, without offering Maghrib prayer, leave for Muzdalifa (Al-Mashar Al-Haram).
      • Offer Maghrib and Isha. (Isha is two Raka’a) prayers together at Isha’s time with one Azan and two Iqamah.
      • After prayers, pick up pebbles for throwing at Satan at the Jamarat in Mina later on. (In our case, pick up 70 pebbles).
      • Stay overnight in Muzdalepha. It is permitted for weak (woman, the old, the ill etc.) to leave Muzdalepha after midnight (Moonset).

Wednesday 23rd September 2015 (10th Zul Hijjah 1436 H)

Return to Mina to spend the next three days. You will throw the Jamarat and perform Qurbani (Zabiha – Slaughtering). Some of the Holy places can be very crowded, particularly at the stoning of the Satans at Mina. The crowds can be particularly daunting for the elderly or frail. Pilgrims can become easily separated from their family or friends. Please make a note of the location of your camp and tent and agree a meeting point in case you do become separated. The performance of Hajj is physically demanding even if you are fit. After stoning Jamarat, you will leave for Makkah to do Tawaf Al-Ifadah and Sa’ae to complete Hajj rituals.

What to expect in Madinatu Al Hujjaj (Hajj Terminal)

After arrival at the Hajj Terminal the Pilgrims will be taken to the waiting hall in the airport. Please expect a waiting period of between ten to twelve hours depending on the number of Pilgrims coming at that time.

*******************************************************************************

Please note the following:-

      • When you receive your tickets, you must check them carefully and notify us immediately if you think any details are inaccurate. We are not liable to you for any problems, which arise if you do not advise us.
      • Qurbani (Zabiha) is included in the price (cost approximately £75 – £80 per Hajj).
      • On arrival, the Saudi authorities will take your passport in exchange for a receipt. The Pilgrim Guides Establishment will hold it for you while you are performing Hajj and return it to you on departure. We strongly advise that you carry a photocopy of your passport at all times. It is also useful to keep with you the addresses and telephone numbers of your accommodation (Provided in the back of your ID).
      • The Saudi Authority DO NOT recognise dual nationality and may, therefore, confiscate second passports. Pilgrims should be aware that the Hajj authorities might also group them according to the nationality of the passports they carry. This could result in separation from family and friends if you carry a different passport to them.
      • Pilgrims travelling on non-British passports are not entitled to consular assistance from the British Consulate-General. British nationals who choose to travel on non-British passports should ensure that all British visas or endorsements are clearly shown in that passport.
      • Any documentation required to re-enter the United Kingdom should be obtained before leaving the UK, to prevent any delays in returning.
      • You MUST wear the ID card at all time starting from HeathrowAirport.
      • For security reasons, please do not peel off the sticker in the back of your passport.
      • If you are taking medication, you should bring an adequate supply, accompanied by a doctor’s certificate describing the medication. This will help avoid problems with Customs.
      • Minimise your load, because we are moving a lot. You can buy any clothes (Western OR Arabic traditional) from Saudi Arabia and it is very cheap compared to UK (Currency exchange is approximately £1 = 5.7 SR).

Your pilgrimage enjoyment is our prime consideration. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you required further information. May Allah SWT accept your Hajj, give the best of rewards and make it easy for you. Ameen!

money-box_03Contact us now if you wish to take part in saving for the next hajj trip. There is NO interest and NO added charge for taking part. For example, from now until Hajj (at the time of writing), there are 8 months remaining. If you are choosing our package, for these 8 months, you can make 8 consecutive deposits of £417 (once a month into our bank account, notifying us of when you have done so, we will keep a record of this (please keep all bank receipts!)). This would total in the 3333, with a bit of spare change left over! (That’s as little as £105/week, just over £15 /day) which could make saving for hajj a whole lot easier.

For many Hajj can be an expensive trip even if it is a once in a lifetime trip. This is why it is so important to plan well ahead financially. If you are careful with your finances and perhaps give up some material comforts, you can easily save enough money to cover all the costs involved in Hajj.

For example giving up cigarettes for a year, depending on how much you smoke can save you up to £1000 a year as well as your health, which is a gift from Allah. Other comforts including chocolate, newspapers or even holidays can be put aside for just one year of your life to be replaced by a once in a lifetime journey.

Islam prescribes that all financially and physically capable Muslims perform a pilgrimage to Makkah once in a lifetime. Besides commanding his/her companions to perform it, the Prophet (Salla Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam) advised them to prepare for it (including finances), and taught them the specific way in which each of the rituals involved was to be performed.

Muslims prepare for it as if they were leaving this world altogether. First, they have to pay off their debts including the zakat due on their wealth; to return whatever was given them in trust; and have enough savings to bear the expenses of the journey (such as travel, Hajj tax, and lodging) and the sacrifice (of an animal). Besides this, they also have to provide for their families and dependents during their absence. They must have earned and saved enough to cover these expenses. No Hajj is valid if it is performed “on credit.” Every Muslim must make Hajj a priority and plan to perform it as soon as possible at least once in a lifetime.

If a person plans to perform Hajj in 2 years, assuming Hajj costs today of £2,000 per person, then the person needs to put aside and invest £2.70 per day or invest annually £1000, quarterly £250 or monthly £82. The intending pilgrim may consider investing little more than these amounts to cover rising costs or lower investment return. For a husband and wife, simply multiply these amounts by two.

As Muslims are strongly discouraged to incur debt, this approach of savings, investing and spending on future needs can also be used for other purposes such as saving for a car, college education, child’s marriage, and Umrah.

It is wise to begin saving early and as such we at Easy Hajj have set up a saving scheme on behalf of our customers. Through weekly, monthly or even quarterly instalments by standing order or direct debit, pilgrims can build up their Hajj fund with Easy Hajj.
